We are a two EV car household, running heat pumps, cooking on an induction stove, solar on the roof and a battery. We moved into a standard 70's house that still had some infrastructure for diesel heating. What it didn't have was good insulation, so that was the first thing to fix, plus a couple of heat pumps. Then, double glazing, and an induction cook top as part of the kitchen reno. Love, love, love induction! It is so quick. I love a semi soft boiled egg. The old way is to bring the egg in water to boil, then leave for 9 minutes using the residual heat in the element to complete the process. 9 minutes! Induction? Bring to the boil, which takes far less time, and 3 minutes on low. So much quicker. The solar system has reduced our power bill dramatically!
