Learn how you can too – saving money and emissions.
In this Electrify Everything discussion event you’ll meet others in your community who’ve made their lives more fossil fuel free. When we come together and share knowledge, we all learn and get more powerful.
How electric are our homes really?
Our lights, dishwashers and ovens are mostly electric, but lots of households burn fossil fuels for water heating, space heating, driving, working outdoors and cooking.
When we electrify everything in our home, we replace some or all of these fossil fuel machines, over time, with much more efficient electric equivalents. Come and talk with local community members who have chosen to use more electric machines in their lives, saving money and emissions, future proofing their homes and businesses.

The Passive House standard is about making buildings as energy efficient as possible, by improving the building fabric, before adding energy generation.
However, there is a tension between making buildings as energy efficient as possible and then electrifying them or electrifying everything and then working on energy efficiency later. Rewiring Aotearoa have been doing some excellent work advocating for electrifying machines across the motu and have looked into this issue from their perspective.
Our buildings are machines; small and large, they are numerous in New Zealand. If we electrify everything should we make our machines as efficient as possible too?
We intend having a educational, fun filled discussion about the way forward for our Aotearoa abodes.

At EEA2025 we put the spotlight on the innovators and change-makers, the smart ideas and unique perspectives that will enable us to solve the challenges facing our industry as we design and deliver our future system.
A shift is underway toward intermittent renewables, more consumer-driven energy services, distributed resources, digitisation and automation. And yet, there are fundamentals that will never change – the need to maintain safety, reliability, resilience and affordability.
EEA2025 is where we tackle these challenges together, sharing learnings with each other and debating to reach alignment on issues. We’re incredibly proud that our conference keeps growing as does its reputation for quality.
With keynote speakers, panel discussions, technical presentations, workshops and our annual awards ceremony celebrating the brightest and the best, it is a jammed packed three days offering something for everyone.
All are welcome.
