He’s a self-proclaimed ‘cheap bastard’ who resisted cellphones, but he’s all-in on electric machinery for the farm and solar for the shed roof.
As he said, energy is money and these days you can't afford to just waste money.
He is one of many farmers - many of them inspired by Rewiring Aotearoa CEO Mike Casey and his experimental electric orchard - who are starting to grasp that producing your own energy and running it in electric machines is one of the few ways they can reduce their costs without needing to compromise on something.
