About your home setup

Rates are likely to keep going but I know I can save money on my bills by electrifying. The upfront costs are the biggest barrier and council can help with that.

We need to use the existing poles and wires more effectively so we don't keep getting bill increases and we can do that with more solar, batteries and EVs.

We need to reduce our emissions and the council can do that by electrifying its own assets, sharing information with ratepayers, disincentivising gas connections and helping them upgrade their properties.

Community groups are starting up all over the country. You can support groups in your region and help them to spread the message.

We need to increase our resilience in case of a natural disaster.

More electrification will create jobs and keep more money in the region that is currently being spent on fossil fuels.
